Hilda R. Smith, 88, of Sylvania, passed away Sunday morning, June 14, 2015, at the Georgia Regents Hospital in Augusta, GA.
Born to the late Elton and Thelma Bazemore Whitehead in Savannah, GA, she relocated to Sylvania at an early age and was reared by the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis Jeffers. She was a member of the Betty Carpenter WMU, at the First Baptist Church and had also taught the Elizabeth Sunday School Class for 45 years. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husbands, Etheridge B. Reddick and James Richard Smith, sibling, Stacey Jeffers, son-in-law, Larry Abbott and great-granddaughter, Kate Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 4:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Sylvania with the Rev. Dr. Charlie Cooper officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service held at the Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel from 2-4 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers wil be Jay Brinson, Larry Gordon, Brett Warren, Jackie Collier, Len Mock and Timothy Callison.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Elizabeth Sunday School Class and Betty Carpenter WMU.
