Wife, Sarah Graham Abney remarried John Carmichael 1-13-1874 in Washington Co., TN. Stone has been removed/stolen or never existed so we have created this cenotaph at the request of Morgan Abney his g-g grandson.

Pinkney enlisted at Dalton GA in the 41st Infantry Regiment, Capt. Matthews Company, GA CSA. He was captured near Marietta, Georgia in 1864 and transferred to Nashville and on to Louisville Military Prison. He was later transferred to Camp Morton, Marion Co., Indiana July 1, 1864, then transferred for exchange on March 15 1865. He was admitted to Jackson Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on March 24, 1865.
