Mr. John Leo Abbott age 88, of Monroeville passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Mr. Abbott was in the Navy and served in W.W.II. He worked as a chiropractor for 18 years before becoming an insurance agent with New York Life. Mr. Abbott was a member of Monroeville First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents William R. Abbott and Grace Sewell Abbott.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife Kate Hendrix Abbott of Monroeville, AL ; two sons Travis (Jena) Abbott of Hoover, AL and Daryl (Cindy) Abbott of Braunfelds, TX; one daughter Charlotte (Rob) Smart of Colleyville, TX; one brother Charlie Abbott of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 10AM to 11AM at Monroeville First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11AM at Monroeville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Eubanks and Rev. Micah Gandy officiating. Interment will be at Pineville Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
