Mass of Christian Burial for Don Marvin Abel, 36, Eudora will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Eudora. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.

Mr. Abel died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at his home.

He was born Oct. 21, 1961, in Gardner, the son of George and Mary Komer Abel. He graduated from Eudora High School in 1979.

He was manager of Jefferson County Rural Water District No. 13 and had previously worked at Hercules Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, DeSoto, and the Farmers Co-op, Lawrence.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He also was a coach for Kids Wrestling in Eudora and the Eudora Amateur Baseball Assn.

He married Hyacinth Patterson on Sept. 2, 1982, in Lawrence. They later divorced.

Survivors include three sons, Joshua, Kevin and Kent, of the home; a daughter, Jill Abel, of the home; his parents, Eudora; five brothers, George R., Emporia, Gary, Mulvane, and Danny, Ron, and Chris, all of Eudora; four sisters, Kathy Laws, Ottawa, JoAnn Mott, Belvue, Janie Harris, Eudora, and Becky Huslig, Andover; his grandmother, Edith Shaw, Eudora; his fiancee, Kim Flory, and her children Melissa, Marci, Nathan, and Kayla Flory, all of Eudora.
