Francis Monroe Abbott of Winchester Springs, 80, retired electrical supervisor at Stewart Air Force Base in Smyrna, died Saturday at Franklin County Hospital following a short illness.
He was a Baptist and member of Winchester Masonic Lodge.
A native of Boaz, Alabama, he was born February 25, 1900. He was the son of Francis T. and Abagail Gray Abbott.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora Lee Brandon Abbott; two sons, William Don Abbott, Estill Springs, and Charles Abbott, Huntland; six daughters, Mrs. Velma Casteel, Mrs. Evie Morris, and Mrs. Doris Davis, all of Winchester, Mrs. Frances Grammer, Centerville, Mrs. Jean Bass, Matteson, Illinois, and Mrs. Betty Jo Hill, Tullahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Tedder and Mrs. Ruth Sutton, both of Birmingham, and Mrs. Deliah Garner, Atlanta, Georgia; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
