Loretta Aamodt, age 95, of McVille, ND died Monday, August 31, 2015 at Nelson County Health System Care Center in McVille.
Loretta Deehr was born February 1, 1920 the daughter of Henry and Christine (Schindele) Deehr in Tolna, ND. She grew up and attended school in Tolna. After graduation she attended Mayville State Teachers College. Loretta married Einar Aamodt June 13, 1943. The couple lived and farmed in the McVille area where Loretta taught school. They spent the winter months in Mesa, AZ. She retired from McVille Public School in 1976. Einar passed away in 1979. In 1994 Loretta moved into McVille and continued to spend winters in Arizona.
Loretta was a member of Sheyenne Lutheran Church and the Sheyenne Ladies Aid. She spent many hours at the Care Center visiting residents and playing cards. Reading was a great past time for her. She always had a good book open waiting to be read.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, a brother, and a sister.
Loretta is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in Sheyenne Lutheran Cemetery, rural Pekin, ND.
