Funeral services for Mrs Sophie Wellman, 88, of Pitkin, were held at 11 am Tuesday at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church, followed by interment in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, with Hargrove Funeral Home of Oakdale in charge.

Surviving her are 2 sons, Martin Wellman & Willie Wellman, both of La Camp; 7 daughters: Mrs Allie Cole, Mrs Helen Maddox, Mrs Israel Kemp, Mrs SD Cole, Mrs Hector Bedgood, all of Pitkin; Mrs Bessie Clark of Leesville, Mrs Martha Stump of DeRidder; a sister, Mrs Allie Potts; 53 grandchildren & 60 great grandchildren.
