John Wayne Adams, 65, of Liberty Church Road, Mocksville, NC, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born in Davie County on March 17, 1947, he was the son of the late John Alvin Adams and Lilah Elmira Whitaker Adams, who survives. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Mr. Adams was retired from United Alarm and served in the US Army from 1966 until 1970.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by 2 sons, Michael A.Adams and fiancé, Katie, and Brandon E. Adams, all of Mocksville; a daughter, Kimberly A. (Brian) Hawks of Clemmons; a brother, Roy A. (Cathy) Adams of Mocksville; 2 sisters, Shirley A. (Landon) Johnson of Mocksville and Margaret A. Honeycutt of Salisbury, 2 grandchildren, Dakota L. Key of Mocksville and Holly R. Hawks of Clemmons, and special best friends, “Spud” and “Pip.”

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wall officiating. The family will receive at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the Heart and Transplant team at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for their continued care and support.
