He was born Aug. 18, 1948, in Clanton, Ala. He moved to Panama City, Fla., in 1953. He proudly served five years in the U.S. Army and four years in the Marine Corps. Semper fi, Larry. He started and ran his own company, known as Abbott's Marine, from 1984 to 2004, when he retired.
He had a great sense of humor and loved to cook. No one ever will forget his looney Larry's lemon chicken.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Abbott; and mother, Bulah Abbott. He is survived by four sons, Charles, Mark, Frank and Myles Teston Abbott; five stepchildren, Alicia, Lea and Leo Gunter and Bobby and Joey Boobyer; many grandchildren; brother, Howard "Sonny" Abbott and wife, Barbara; sisters, Jewell Hance and Barbara and Lowell Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
