Erika W. Abell, 75, a resident of Miami since 1969 passed away at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri on November 24, 2015. Erika was born on December 21, 1939 in Frankfurt, Germany to Anton and Emilie (Kammerer) Berier. She worked as a supervisor for Oklahoma Leather Products in Miami. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami and enjoyed arts and crafts. Mrs. Abell was preceded in passing by her parents Anton and Emilie, her husband Arnold Abell who passed away December 30, 2000.
Survivors include her daughter Stephanie Abell-Gardner and her husband Chris of Grove, her brothers Juergen Berier and Reinhard Berier both of Germany and her grandson Michael Abel and her step grandchildren Kaytlyn Gardner and Dakota Gardner.
Vigil and Rosary services will be Monday, November 30, 2015 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami with visitation at 6:00 PM until the Rosary at 7:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami with Reverend Carl Kerkemeyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation service in Miami.
Pallbearers will be Michael Abell, John Walls, John Myers, John Thomas, Robert Teal and Lyndon Dawson.
