Caroline Meldahl, 101, of Hatton, ND passed away with her family by her side, Monday, August 12, 2013 at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND. A memorial service will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:30am at Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, ND. A visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a 7:00pm prayer service at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND.
Caroline Aaker was born August 17, 1911 to Carl and Eina (Johnson) Aaker on the Aaker Farm, rural Hatton, ND. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Hatton High School. After high school, Caroline attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. Upon returning to the Hatton area, Caroline worked at the Farmers Store and also did some accounting/bookkeeping for several other businesses in Hatton. On February 10, 1934, Caroline married Carl Meldahl, with services at the Aaker Farm. Carl passed away in 1985. Caroline was a member of the Beaver Creek Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Steele County Red Cross. Caroline was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, and loved to entertain.
Caroline is survived by her children: Charles Meldahl, Denver, CO, Marilyn Pederson, Northwood, ND, Carol (Marvin) Bohn, Brainerd, MN, Fred (Cassie Oster) Meldahl, Minot, ND, Bradley (Mary) Meldahl, Sharon, ND; grandchildren: Jan, Rodney, Mary, Andrea, Erica, Kristin, Andy, Chris, and Sarah; 15 great-grandchildren, Sister, Phyllis (Roger) Sinkler, Fargo, ND, and sister-in-law Judy Meldahl.
Preceding Caroline in death were her parents, husband Carl Jr, sons: David, Rodney and Carl; siblings: Eric Aaker, Carl Aaker Jr, Marion Pagel, Bernice Haller, Dan Aaker, and Robert Aaker; grandson Mark Meldahl; son-in-law Ronald Pederson. Caroline was also preceded in death by lifelong family member, Christine Hanson.
