Lawanda Ellen Abee, 77, of Miramar Beach, Fla., passed away on March 26, 2013. She was born in Cardwell, Mo., on June 7, 1935.
Lawanda was a homemaker who nurtured her family of all generations. She enjoyed bridge, golf, volunteer work and she passed on her love of reading to all her children. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.
Lawanda was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ellen Green, and her three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Bill Abee; son, Greg Abee and wife, Betty, of Victoria, Texas; daughter, Sherri Abee of Abilene, Texas; son, Glenn Abee of Hopkinsville, Ky.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home; 113 Racetrack Road, N.E., Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, March 29 at 2 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Fla.
