Funeral services for Douglas “Doug” Abel will be 10:00AM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church near Choudrant with Rev. Larry Brooks and Rev. Dwayne Monk officiating. Burial will follow in Cook Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Abel died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his home in Choudrant.
Mr. Abel is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathy Frazier Abel of Choudrant; Daughters, Catherine Abel of New Orleans, Rachel Abel and her fiancé Andrew Sherman of Choudrant; Brothers, Joe Abel and wife Dot of Carthage, MS, Wiley Abel and wife Ann of Wiggins, MS; Mother in Law, Clara Frazier of Ruston; Sister in Law, Becky Buckland of Ruston; Numerous Nieces, Nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Mike Forney, Shane Bell, Danny Lonidier, Colter Weeks, Stacey Jones and Chris Hubbard.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 5PM until 8PM at New Hope Baptist Church near Choudrant.
