(1901-2000)
Maggie Abrams Fugate, 99, of South Shore, Ky., a former Quincy (Ky.) resident died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1901, in Lewis County, Ky., a daughter of the late William Abrams and Melvina Pancake Abrams. She was a member of the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church and a retired employee of the former Williams Manufacturing Company of Portsmouth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fugate, Oct. 3, 1957. Surviving are two daughters, Lucille Gallagher of Boston, Mass., and Virginia May of Vanceburg, Ky.; one grandson whom she raised, Bill Glass of South Portsmouth, Ky.; six additional grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, with Elder Robert Potter officiating, and interment in Sunset Cemetery at Quincy. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
