Alice Mable Achée, first child born of Andrew Sylvester Achée and Aimee "Dina" Hebert of Labadieville, Louisiana. Alice was destined to serve her mankind, for she was a Registered Nurse for 51 years. During the first World War, Nurse Achée went to Terrebonne Parish in assisting the Red Cross on her mission of mercy. The flood of 1927 saw her as the Chief Nurse, helping the Terrebonne Doctors in their efforts of saving lives from the calamity. Later she returned to New Orleans and began as a Private Duty Nurse serving mainly at The Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. Her inner and physical strength was matched by her altruistic compassion and calm. The many lives she touched by her care was highly regarded personally and professionally.
