SCHUYLER — Joyce Svasek, 73, of Schuyler, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Presbyterian Church in Schuyler with the Rev. Neal Allen officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Kracl Funeral Chapel and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Committal will be in Schuyler Cemetery. Lunch will be served in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be directed to the senior center or First Presbyterian Church.

Joyce was born Jan. 17, 1943, in Columbus to John and Ida (Legler) Abraham. She attended District 23 for eight years and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1960. She went to work for Otradovsky Law Firm and worked there for over 54 years when her health caused her to retire.

Joyce loved Schuyler High School sports, was a Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed bowling and playing cards and was known to visit the casinos from time to time. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her siblings, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and all of her friends in Schuyler. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder on the Session and on the finance committee and belonged to the Schuyler Eagles Club as well.

Joyce is survived by two sisters, Florence Stevenson of Richland and Elaine Abraham of Schuyler; a brother, Alden (Elizabeth) Abraham of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three nephews, Daniel (Suzanne) Stevenson of Columbus, Kenneth (Denise) Stevenson of Richland and Thomas (Julie) Stevenson of Aurora; seven great-nieces and nephews, Rylee, Emily, Zachary, Jordan, Madison, Nicholas and Nathan; and one sister-in-law, Lorene Tuma of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Moural and LaVerna Abraham; brother, Donald Abraham; and brother-in-law, Ward Stevenson Jr.
