Dewayne “Frog” Adams, 50, of Hiawassee, Georgia, formerly of Nantahala, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in an Asheville hospital. He was a native of High Point, North Carolina, but lived most of his life in Hickory, North Carolina and Nantahala. Dewayne worked for Hargett’s Telephone Contractors, and as a supervisor for the North Carolina Rest Area at Andrews. He volunteered at the Humane Society Thrift Store in Hiawassee for the past three years. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed growing a garden and many people enjoyed the fruits of his labors. Dewayne liked WWE Raw wrestling and country music.

He was the son of Marcella Grant of Hickory and the late John Henry Adams. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Lynn Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with Evangelist Timothy Prince officiating. The interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Nantahala.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ivie Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
