Danny Leon Abel, 74, of Bland, Mo., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born Oct. 22, 1941, in Belle, Mo., died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at his residence.
Danny was a civil engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 35 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. Danny enjoyed spending his retirement years with his wife Janet in the hills of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Georgia, nee Terrill, Abel; and a brother, Ronald K. Abel.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Janet K., nee LePere, Abel, whom he married on May 1, 1965; three sons, two grandchildren, his twin brother, Donny, two sisters, and nieces and nephews.
