HORSESHOE BEND — Graveside services for John Lewis Woods, 69, Whitebird, formerly of Horseshoe Bend, who died Sunday in a Lewiston hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Graveside Pioneer Cemetery, Horseshoe Bend, by the Rev. Norman Brown, Eagle United Methodist Church, under the direction of Noland Funeral Home, Grangeville.
He was born Sept. 5, 1910, in Boise to Mr. and Mrs. Sherden Woods. He attended school in Horseshoe Bend, where he lived until 1935. He was a crane operator all over the world until he retired in 1973, when he moved to Whitebird. He married Gertrude Baumgardner on March 1, 1951, in Madison, Wis.
Surviving are two sons, John W. of Juneau, Alaska, and Allan of Whitebird; three daughters, Barbara Morado of Boise, Betty Jo Caldwell of Hermiston, Ore., and Vicky Logsdon of Clayburn, Texas; three brothers, Boyd and Gail, both of Boise, and Willis of Eagle; four sisters, Viola Moore of Eagle, Mabel Able of Boise, Olive Fallwell of Boise, and Thelma Richie of Bakersfield, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
