Sandra was born March 16, 1960 to Richard and Sharon (Anderson) Abbott. She was the first student to graduate from the new Rapid City Central High School in 1978.
Sandra moved to Tulsa, OK in 1979 where she was married to David Ames in 1981.
The family lived in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas and later Rapid City in the early eighties. Sandra married Bret Peterson in 1990; they lived in Rapid City except for a couple of years in Tulsa, OK.
In July 2012 she moved to Cheney, KS to be closer to family
She is survived by her mother Sharon and daddy Bill Trautner; her sister Shelley.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard Abbott and step mother Jeanette; step dad Paul Rust; brother Rick Abbott and ex-husband Bret Peterson.
Memorial services will be at 1pm on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City.
