Paul Armas Abrahamson, 58, of Memphis, died Saturday afternoon May 2, 2009, at home following a courageous battle against cancer.
He was born July 26, 1950, in Manistique the son of the late Armas and Evelyn (Cumper) Abrahamson.

His marriage to Linda Kortas was August 11, 1973, in Utica.

Paul served his country with the United States Army during Vietnam with the 212th MP Company (Sentry Dog) from September 1969 to April of 1971.

He was employed by Ford Motor Company, Mound Road Axle plant, for several years, until the effects of agent orange forced him into medical disability in 1987.

Paul was a master gardener and his greatest passion was planting things and watching them grow.

He was a member of "Keep Michigan Beautiful, Inc." (KMB) which is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers to combat litter and promote beautification of Michigan and was former president of the Beautification Council of South Eastern Michigan (BCSEM).

He was a longtime volunteer at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township, Martha T. Berry Medical Center resident's garden caretaker and dedicated A.A. member.

Surviving in addition to his wife Linda of 36 years are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Dr. Anne Marie M.D. of Grosse Ile and Neil of Mt. Clemens; grandchildren, Nicholas and Ava Marie; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Pat of MA and sister and brother-in-law, Karen and John Rademacher and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

His family honors the memory of Paul and invites you to visit and share Friday, May 8, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond.

Funeral and burial services will be at a later date in Grand Marais, Alger County.
