ABINGDON, Va. Carolyn June Abel, 61, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at her home. She was born November 30, 1954, in Bristol, Va., and was a graduate of Abingdon High School. Carolyn was a member of the Abingdon Moose Lodge where she was actively involved in helping with charity work. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her mother, ImoGene Faye Abel. She is survived by her father, David A. Abel Sr. of Abingdon; one brother, Ben Abel and wife, Rita, of Abingdon; one sister, Brenda Leigh Nunley and husband, Raymond, of Meadowview; three nephews, Jason Abel, Michael Abel, Derek Anderson and wife, Brittanie; two nieces, Bayleigh Abel and Phinley Abel. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Abel officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of service. The committal service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
