Shown as single in the 1880, 1900, and 1910 censuses (all Gold Hill, Storey county, Nevada); both parents born Vermont. Parents from 1850 census, Athens, Windham county, Vermont, with mother's maiden name from sister Jane Louisa (Alexander) Wyman's 1906 New Hampshire death record. Place of birth from POBs of siblings and consistent place of residence of parents through all sources.
Possibly the H. Alexander censused 1860 in Township 5, Amador county, California, Drytown PO, as a miner. By 1865 an H. K. Alexander appears on a Nevada tax list; much of his line is unclear, though he owes $24.80 on a valuation of 496. The location looks to be "union office". H. K. Alexander appears in the 1878 Storey county directory in Gold Hill as a carpenter at "Con. Imperial" (a mine).
