Services for Mr. William A. "Jake" Jacobs, 73, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 1995 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Leslie Creel, retired Baptist Minister. Burial will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
Mr. Jacobs died suddenly Thursday, November 23, 1995 from an abdominal aortic aneurysm at Doctors Hospital. He was born in Melbourne, AR and had resided in Bossier City, La. since 1963. Mr. Jacobs was a Ret. Sr. Master Sergeant, U.S.A.F. with over 29 years of service and was also a former employee of Shreve Island Bicycle Center. Mr. Jacobs was Baptist and served his country during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Brian Jacobs; his parents, Sally and Lawrence Jacobs and his brother, Donald Jacobs.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary E. Jacobs, Bossier City, La.; two sons, Douglas Jacobs and his wife, Cynthia, Sioux Falls, SD, Gary Humphrey and his wife Tina of Mesquite, TX; one special daughter, Eileen Flaschenriem, Bossier City, LA; two sisters, Ghida Gibson and her husband Bill of Memphis, TN, Marjorie Helm and her husband Curtis, Melbourne, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Huey Long, Bill Travis, Carl Eddins, Danny Brannon, Paul Pierce and Gary Humphrey. The family would like to express a special thanks to the employees and physicians of Doctors Hospital for all of their loving care and concern.
