Mrs. Stella Ferrill Abell, 68, of the Gaddis Ridge community in Taylor County, Elkhorn, Route 1, daughter of the late Mr. Emmett Ferrill and Mrs. Mary Miles Ferrill, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, June 9, 1905. She died suddenly at 8:50 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, at her home. She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Stoner Creek United Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Lonzie Abell, April 30, 1921. He preceded her in death January 26, 1969. To this union three daughters and three sons were born. One son died in infancy. Surviving are Mrs. Velma Tungate of Elkhorn, Route 1, Mrs. Kathleen Tungate and Mr. Wesley Abell, both of Ottawa, Illinois, Mr. Willard Abell of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Mrs. Wilma Ashoff of Chicago, Illinois; twenty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Mr. Leonard Ferrill of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Mr. Howard Ferrill of Edinburg, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. Clay Dixon. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
