Vivian at a young age desired to go into the mission field but her God had a different plan for her. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jerome K Abbe, Sr. whom predeceased her on December 12, 1987. Together they had nine children. Vivian was devoted to her family and also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and writing children’s stories. She had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude even though the many losses she had in her life. She will be greatly missed.
Vivian is survived by six of her nine children, Jan (Roy) Douglas, Anita (Jerry) Beebe, Sandy (Tom) Williams, Susan (Chuck) Johnson, Jim (Renee) Abbe, Dan Abbe and fiancée Shelliel 46 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Charlotte (Hank) Popkis, and Sharon (Bob) Rich.
Three sons predeceased her Jerome K. Abbe Jr., Dennis M. Abbe (Dan’s twin), Kevin L. Abbe; three grandsons, Keith Abbe (Bud’s), Shane Williams and Joshua Williams; and eight siblings.
Her entire family wishes to express a special thanks to her doctor, nurses and staff at MediLodge for their kindness during mom’s last year and a half of her life.
Funeral services for Vivian will take place at 11:00 A.M. Thursday August 4, 2016 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St. Vivian’s sons-in-law, Jerry Beebe and Tom Williams, will officiate with burial in Midland City Cemetery.
