Dennis John Hattrup died July 26,2016 in Kinsley,KS. He was born August 20,1923 to Ferdinand and Mary (Schmitt Hattrup) Havas. He married Ruth Durler on November 25,1947 in Spearville,Ks. He was a lifelong farmer,dairyman, and custom cutter. He was a member of St.Nicholas Church and Knights of Columbus Council 2131, where he served as Grand Knight and District Deputy Knight. He also served as a 4-H leader and as a member of the Logan Township Board.

Dennis is survived by his wife and children: Charles(Mary) Hattrup of Manhattan, Pat(Wayne) Menthen of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Rita Faires of Wichita, Bev Jensen, Duane(Kit)Hattrup of Westminister, CO., Denise(Melvin)Priest , Darlene Judy, Dan Hattrup, all of Kinsley,Ks, Judy(Phillip) Gleason of Spearville,Ks., Joann(Greg) Stephens of Ashburn,VA, Tammy (Darcy)White, Deanna(Bill) Abildgaard both of Wichita,Ks., Michelle(Paul)Blodgett of Kearney,Mo.; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lucille Gleason of Kinsley,Ks.

He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Hattrup, parents, step-father, Urban Havas and brother, Eugene Hattrup.

Vigil service was held Friday, July 29,2016 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Memorials to Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery Association or St.Nicholas Building Fund in care of McKillip Funeral Home, Kinsley,KS.
