Ellen was born August 11, 1934 in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming the daughter of Ralph and Lucile (Parsons) Shipp.
She was reared and educated in Pine Bluffs and graduated from Pine Bluffs High School in 1953.
She married Robert Werle and they later divorced. She then married James Adams on March 28, 1960. They lived in Denver, Briggsdale, and Grover, Colorado and Bushnell, Nebraska from 1961 to 1965 before moving to Pine Bluffs. In 1974 they moved to Wheatland where they made their home. The last place she called home was the Platte County Legacy Home.
In her early years, she worked at her parent’s grocery store, The Pine Bluffs Coop Grocery Store. While living in Wheatland she worked as a cook for Arby’s for sixteen years.
Some of her hobbies included a flower garden, word searches, and she loved to cook and bake but most of all her greatest hobby was raising her four children and spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by children, Martha (Garry) Mahon of Billings, Montana, Melody (Rick) Moody of Wheatland, Bill (Joyce) Adams of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Greg (Julie) Adams of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers, Gary (Mary) Shipp of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Bob (Susie) Shipp of Virginia, and Gordon (Wyona) Shipp of Tucson, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Adams on September 5, 2015 and her parents.
