Mrs. Abell was a lifelong resident of Fauquier County.
A longtime member of Thumb Run Baptist Church, she was a very humble woman who would always help a friend in need. She was devoted to her family and passionate about gardening and reading the Bible.
She was predeceased by her son, Douglas Abell, and husband, Nelson Abell.
Survivors include survived her loving daughter, Sandra Schick and son-in-law Richard of The Plains; three granddaughters: Jennifer Walkawicz, Amy Schick and Lori Taylor, two great-grandsons, Brendan Taylor and Mason Mouw.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, when the service will begin at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Burial will follow at the Orlean Cemetery.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Amerisist of Warrenton who cared for Mrs. Abell in her final days.
