Most of his life was spent in Hartford where he was a member of the firm Abbe and Durnall in the electrical business. He went to Utica about 1898 and entered the employ of the Utica Electric Light and Power Company. Married in Hartford about 1893, May Evers, who survived him with a son b. about 1895.

Daniel J. Abbe, formerly of Enfield, died in Sara Sota, Fla., April 15, aged 69 years. He lived with his eldest son, but intended to come North next month with his son Charles, who has been in Florida the past winter. Three other sons, Henry E. of New Britain, Daniel O. of this place and Herbert C. of Hartford, and one daughter, Mrs. Francis J. Allen, survive him. The interment was In Braidentown, Fla.
