"Nanny" was a wonderful, funny, Christian woman. She was loved by all, and we truly miss her. She was married to Jesse Thornton Crocker, Sr., had five children: Edith, Loyce, Imogene, Jesse, Jr., and Phillip. They lived in east Texas for many years, but lived in Benavides, Texas in their later years. After Jesse died, she moved to Freer, Texas to live next to her daughter, Edith Morman. She was a devout Christian woman and spent many years attending the Freer Assembly of God church.

Lucille's father was Benjamin Franklin Hays. Mother was Catherine Taylor.
