A long time employee at the Naval Weapons Laboratory. a Veteran of WWI, Mr. Abel retired as a chief boatswains mate in 1929 after 20 years of active service. he remained in the fleet reserve for a additional 10 years. giving his 30 years of service with the Navy in 1929 he went to work as a quarter man in the public works dept. and retired from there in 1959 with 30 years of service. Mr. Abel is survived by his wife Mrs. Bella S Abel. two brothers Eugene M Abel of gig harbor Washington. and the rt. Rev Msgr George Abel of Canada and a sister Mrs. Edwin Lafleur of Canada.
