Ilda Joyce Mitchell, 93, of Bassett, passed away on October 2, 2016 at King’s Grant in Martinsville, She was born in Patrick County, on July 29, 1923 to Louie Washington and Susie Tuggle Joyce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duell W. Mitchell, an infant son, sisters, Edith Wray and Racine Craig, and brothers, Curtis, Dolphus, and Ronnie Joyce.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bassett.
Surviving are children, Michael J. Mitchell, David Leon Mitchell, Carol (Daniel) Adams, Betty Jo (Bill) Ray; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Geneva Dillion, Nellie Terry, Bea Adams, Peggy Merriman; brothers, Bobby Joyce and Tommy Joyce.
Burial will be at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church.
