Susan Ernestine Abalos, 57, formerly of Silver City, passed away on September 26, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM .

Cremation has taken place. The Prayer Vigil will be at seven o'clock in the evening on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Baca's Funeral Chapels with Deacon Bill Holguin and Deacon Jerry Bustillos officiating. The Funeral Liturgy will be at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, October 15 at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Roberto Barreto, officiating. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.

Ernestine was born July 10, 1959 to David Abalos Sr., and Margaret Olivas Snoeberger in Silver City, NM. She was known to her family and friends as Ernestine, Titina, and Auntie. She was an avid athlete, playing volleyball, softball and running cross country before graduating in 1978 at Silver High School. Ernestine lived and worked in Albuquerque for almost 30 years where she owned and operated a small landscaping business in the Southeast Heights area. Ernestine loved to read and found joy in spending time at the bookstores. She enjoyed spending time with her family when she could and always made sure the time spent was fun and positive.

Ernestine is survived by her mother Margaret Olivas Snoeberger and step-father Bill Snoeberger; sisters, Virginia Bustillos (Deacon Jerry Bustillos), Delia Sherman, Sally Abalos, Isabel Gonzales, brother Robert Abalos (Annadel) step-sister Sandra Lujan (Rick); step-brothers, Kenneth (Kami), and Gary (Kim) Snoeberger as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray, Steven, and David Abalos; father David Abalos Sr. and a niece Renee Gonzales.
