DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. –– William "Earl" Adams, 70, of Dawson Springs, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Dawson Pointe Nursing Home in Dawson Springs.

He was born June 26, 1936, in Caldwell County, Ky., to Alvie and Estella Ladd Adams. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dawson Springs. He was a coal miner. He also worked in a saw mill and drive a coal truck.

He was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Joe David Adams; one grandson, Tyler Adams; and one great-grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maxine Summers Adams of Dawson Springs; one daughter, Sandy Trotter Stokes of Madisonville; two sons, Steve Adams and Willie Adams, both of Dawson Springs; three sisters, Jean Gray and Betty Martin, both of Dawson Springs and Lucille Kimberlin of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Larry Adams and Jimmy Adams, both of Dawson Springs; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs with the Rev. Bobby McKnight officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County.
