Clark Luce Abbott died Sunday at a Florida hospital.

He was born in Lexington, Maine, a son of John A. and Mabel Luce Abbott.

Mr. Abbott, a noted athlete, graduated from Central High School in North New Portland, Maine, Hebron Academy and the University of Maine.

He was a teacher, coach and high school principal prior to a career in business which included ownership of an automobile and farm machinery business in Skowhegan, Maine.

He was a member of Mount Abram Masonic Lodge, Kingfield, Maine, and the Shrine.

Surviving are his wife, Freelia Huse Abbott; and a son, Dr. John C. of Stamford, Conn.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at the First Methodist Church, Kingfield. Arrangements are by North Meadowlawn Funeral Home.

His remains were moved to East New Portland Cemetery in 2018. Both stones remain.
