Merl John "Bucks" Abney, 71, returned to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 while in the loving arms of his wife Judy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ Our Light Catholic Church (St. Edwards) in Princeton on Wednesday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. A visitation and prayer service will be held at Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in Princeton on Tuesday, June 1 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Merl was born November 10, 1938 in Carroll, Iowa to Merl and Drusilla Abney. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He married his wife, Judy, on August 2, 1986. Merl served on the Princeton Township Board. He was the owner and operator of Abney Recycling, Inc. in Princeton for over forty years. He was known for his fairness, generosity and kindness. He enjoyed making new friends as well as keeping life-long friendships. He was adored by his wife and family and will be greatly missed by them and everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Merl and Drusilla Abney and son, Joseph Abney. Merl is survived by his wife, daughters and 2 sons.
