Born to Ole Aamodt and Sigrid Eriksdotter. Married Johanna in Norway in 1885. Came to the United States in 1890 and settled near Northwood, North Dakota. In November of 1902, they homesteaded near Greenbush and farmed in the community until their deaths. Both are buried in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery east of Greenbush.

Erick and Johanna had ten children: K. O. or Ole 1-30-1885; Nels 9-17-1886; Annie 1-11-1888; Nels 1-12-1889; Thea 7-25-1890; Sarah/Sigrid 10-20-1891; Ellerth 1-24-1893; Lena 8-2-1895; Einar 7-30-1900; and Alfred 8-23-1902.
