CHESTERTON - Sylvia H. Aaron, 88, Chesterton, died Sunday (May 8, 2005) at VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso.
Mrs. Aaron was born Feb. 7, 1917, in Blytheville, Ark., to Arthur and Francis (Strickland) Watson.
On Dec. 18, 1935, in Harrisburg, Ark., she married Mitchell J. Aaron, who died Aug. 10, 1991.
Survivors include three sons, Edward "Eddie" (Lynn) Aaron, Chesterton, Wayne (Leah) Aaron, Michigan City, and Larry (Pam) Aaron, South Bend; two daughters, Frances Bader, Chesterton, and Trish (James) Powell, Valparaiso; two sisters, Jane (Robert) Ware and Sue (Jim) Kaufman, both of Michigan City; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding Mrs. Aaron in death were one son, Martin "Marty" Aaron; two brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Aaron was an area resident since 1952. She worked in food service at Memorial Hospital and Valparaiso High School. She was a member of Assembly of God Church.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Loren Hodum officiating. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
