Rick Abanathy, 62 of Boaz, KY passed away at 11:14 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Lourdes Hospital. Rick was a member of Destiny Church and was soundboard operator for the church. Rick was a 1972 graduate of Lone Oak High School and the owner of R & J Electronics. Rick loved nature, enjoyed playing the piano and guitar and being with his family, especially the grandsons. He loved cats and feeding and watching the hummingbirds,

Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Debbie Elrod Abanathy; one daughter, Jennifer Rude and husband, Kevin of Paducah, KY; one son, Patrick Abanathy and wife, Elizabeth of Murray, KY; mother, Winona Gene Rose Riney Abanathy of Paducah, KY; one sister, Susan Abanathy of Paducah, KY; three grandsons, Jacob Abanathy, Jonathan Rude and Charles Rude.

Preceding in death was his father, Thomas Earl Abanathy and one sister, Ramona Downs.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Brother Charles Harp offciating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemtery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
