Graveside services were held this morning at Eveline Township Cemetery for Ray Ackerman, 69, Ironton, who was found dead near his home Thursday afternoon from self inflicted gunshot wounds.
Death was believed to have happened about August 13 according to James Stackus, Charlevoix county coroner.
Mr. Ackerman had lived at Ironton for the past seven years and had no known survivors.

Durwood Andrews and Donald Siel of Ionia said they had arrived at their trailer only a short time before and were cutting through the wooded area to obtain a pail of fresh water at the spring in a nearby field when they discovered the body.
They notified the Charlevoix county sheriff department.
