Final Services For Mrs. Groom Are Held Friday.....Burial is in Cemetery At Port by Side of Late Husband, M. D. Groom.....Final rites for Mrs Myrtle A. Groom, 68, long time resident of Sentinel were held at 2:30 Friday afternoon in the First Baptist church with Rev. G. C. Hill, Rocky, Rev. Joe Clark minister of the Bethel Baptist church and Rev. H. M. Riek minister of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial was in the Port cemetery by the side of her husband the late Marshall Groom, who died in 1936, Services were under direction of Brown Funeral home. Bearers were Luther Boone, Rush Hare, Joe Bennett, Claude Snider, Wade Vineyard and Talmage Palmer. Songs sung at the services were, "Jesus Savior Pilot Me", "They Ring Those Golden Bells for You and Me", and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". She was born Myrtle Adams at Liberty, Tenn. Nov 25, 1880 and joined the Baptist church early in life. She was married to Marshall Groom on August 2 1899. They moved to Retrop community in 1905 and lived there and in Sentmel since that time. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Harry Hilton, Cordell, Mrs. Bill Ferrell, Decatur, Texas and Mrs. Sam Russell, Granite and one granddaughter, Ann Marie Farrell. Also surviving are two brothers Frank Adams, Franklin Tenn. and P. L. Adams, Claude Texas; a half sister Mrs. Dixie Bailiff, Smithville, Tenn.; five nieces and seven nephews. Out-of-town relatives attending the rites include, Jack Caruthers, Altus; Rev. and Mrs. Field, Mrs. Eunice Cragg, Mrs. Doris Mitchell, Mrs. Everett Wilds and daughter and Mrs. Forrester all of Granite; Mrs. A/ Hodge, Mrs. Arthur Bowman, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bowman, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. Burkhaltur and Rev, Hill, all of Rocky; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Warren, Clinton, Mrs. Leon Molen, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Williams, Mrs. Roy McCurley, Mrs. Jess Wesner, Mrs. Raymond Symcox and Cliff Long, all of Cordell; Mr. and Mrs. Adams and Glenn Alvin Adams, Claude, Texas; Adella Adams, Leona Adams and Edna Mae Adams, all of Amarillo, Texas and Frank Adams, Franklin Tenn..
