Gravestone says "Father" . Son of David Stevick Sr. and Mary M Zarker. Born in Clay Township, Kosciusko, IN. Birth date probably Feb 1, 1850 as listing on 1900 census says born 1850. Also, 1850 Census taken in Oct. says 3 mo. old. (should this have been 8 mo. old). North Dakota Death records list a death date, June 16, 1926 and 77 years old, no birth date. Married Minerva Ellen King in 1876 in Iowa. They had lived in the N. D. area for 24 years. In poor health for some time, the death certificate stated that he had suffered from stomach cancer. A model "T" grain truck owned and driven by neighbor, Marshall Baldock, carried his casket to the Rolling Green Township Church for the afternoon funeral. Burial was at the Rolling Green Cemetery. An obituary write-up said, "Mr. Stevick was an old homesteader here, and was highly respected by everyone. He was survived by Minerva, age 65, daughters, Minnie and Nellie; and his two sons. Bert and W.E. Stevick both farming in the vicinity. From this time on, Minerva made her home with W. E. "Buck" and Sarah Jane at their farm.
