Gerald “Jerry” Abbott, 82, of Missoula died at Village Health Care on Thursday, Feb. 23. A full obituary along with service information will follow. Arrangements will be under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
Gerald (Jerry) T. Abbott, 82, of Missoula passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Village Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Cyrus and Kathryn Abbott and grew up in Southern California. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and completed college there. He and Suzanne Abbott raised five children whom they moved to Great Falls in 1971. He married Carolyn Eagle in 1993 and they lived happily together in Missoula.
Jerry loved motorcycles, the places they took him, and his many friends. He made riding and business friends everywhere he went. Most of his career he was a pharmaceutical representative.
He is survived by Carolyn, his brother William, his children, daughters Lisa Homb (John), Nora and Nancie, and son KC (Becca), and grandchildren Jennifer, Shantel, Daniell and Jane, and great granddaughters Olivia and Emily, step-daughters Amy Thompson (Richard), Ann Eagle (Brett Kruger) and their son Justin. He is preceded in death by his parents, ‘Red’ and Kathryn Abbott and daughter Monica.
A service is planned for Friday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 300 E. Broadway, Missoula.
