Herman Louis Hranchak, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, at his home near Glendo.

He was born May 20, 1934 in Denver, Colo., the son of George and Rose (Perk) Hranchak. He was raised and educated in Denver and graduated from Cathedral High School in Denver in 1952. He was married to Marshallean Elvina Kuhl on November 27, 1954 in Denver.

He worked for Mountain Bell and AT&T for 32 years, retiring in 1986. Herman and Marsha moved to Glendo in January, 1992 to their home at Glendo Lake, where he resided until the time of his death.

Since the early 1960’s he and his family came to their cabin at Glendo, where they enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Herman was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a volunteer fireman for the Glendo Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marshallean Hranchak, of Glendo; children, Victoria “Vicki” (John) Carnell of Centennial, Colo., Steven Hranchak of Aurora, Colo., David (Sandra) Hranchak of Wheatland, Kenneth (Barbara) Hranchak of Centennial, and Thomas Hranchak of Glendo; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Hranchak.
