WILLIAMSBURG - Harald Edwin Aadahl, 61, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2017. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful "Daddy" and beloved youth pastor. Harald was born in Williamsburg, Virginia and was a graduate of James Blair High School. He earned degrees from Thomas Nelson Community College, Moody Bible Institute and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Harald served his 1st church as a youth and education pastor in Garner, North Carolina. Throughout the remainder of his life, he worked as an associate pastor at Temple Baptist, Orcutt Baptist and Hilton Baptist churches in Newport News, Virginia. Left to cherish his memory is his spouse of 37 years, Mary Cottrell Aadahl; parents Edwin and Elizabeth Aadahl of Williamsburg; son Aaron Tyler (Sarah) of Remington, Virginia; daughters Sara Aadahl Maslyn (Jordan) of Richmond and Hannah Aadahl of Toano; brothers, Richard Aadahl (Patty) and Christopher P. Aadahl (Mary Katherine); sister Thelma Annette Woolard, all of Williamsburg; and granddaughter, Harper Maslyn. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 7:30 pm on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11:00am at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
