Betty C. Reed, 78, of Estill County, passed away Wednesday morning, March 29, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Betty was born in Estill County on May 1, 1938, the daughter of the late Aaron and Annie Mae Powell Abner.

She was a retired supervisor for Kentucky American Water Company in Lexington and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Berea. Survivors include one daughter: Tamra Reed Shearer (Dempsey); one sister: Mabel Willis of Irvine; a sister-in-law: Irma Abner; one granddaughter: Chelsea Shearer: three step-grandchildren: Shane Shearer (Laura), Dempsey Alan Shearer (Debbie) and Jamie Ledet; as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family would like to acknowledge her longtime friendship with the Peacemakers MC Club. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery at Panola, KY.
