Forest C. Boren, 59, a resident of 1900 Salzer St., died Thursday afternoon at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital. He had been a resident of Charles City for the past 40 years.
Forest Corless Boren was born March 12, 1909, at Leland, Ill., the son of Elmer and Mable Boren. He graduated from Goodell High School and attended college at Grundy. Sept. 14, 1935, he married Twilah Taft in Charles City. Mrs. Boren died in September of 1964. Boren was a foundry worker at the Oliver Corp. and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Russel, Charles City, Mrs. Bob (Bonnie) Aarons, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Fred (Mildred) Faga, Reedsburg, Wis. He was preceded in death by his wife in September of 1964, his parents and brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Hauser Funeral Home. The Rev. A. Van Benshoten, supply pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate, with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at graveside by the Veterans of WWI, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
