Mrs. Sarah Emma White Abbott, 90 years old, of Topeka, Kansas, former resident of Stark county, died Tuesday, December 2, 1946, in that city. She had been bedfast since July 21 and her 90th birthday on November 17 was spent in bed.
Sarah Emma White was born on a farm near LaFayette on November 17, 1858, second in a family of 13 children. Of this large family only three brothers survive. They are Charles F. White, of Kewanee; George White, of Oklahoma; and Asa G. White, of Peoria.
She was married December 3, 1879, at the home of her parents, to Charles Edwin Abbott, of Iatan, Platte county, Missouri. To this union were born two daughters, Inez Viola Abbott, and Gertrude Lorena, wife of John Wilton, both of whom are deceased.
Mr. and Mrs. Abbott lived for six years near Iatan on a farm. Then they moved to a farm near Topeka, finally locating in Topeka in 1890. Since that time they had made their home in Topeka.
Mr. Abbott passed away on their wedding anniversary in 1940, the same as she died on their wedding anniversary six years later.
