John Aulden Roach
September 30, 1935 - May 25, 2017

John Aulden Roach, 81, of Hixburg Road, Pamplin, went to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was in a loving marriage of 58 years with Louise Ranson Roach.

Born in Charlotte County, Va., on September 30, 1935, he was a son of the late Erna Smith and Oder Edwin Roach. He was a 1953 graduate of William Campbell High School and a US Navy Veteran. Aulden was a member of Rocks Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and song leader. He retired from UPS, worked ten years at Sears doing small engine repair, and later worked six years for Penelope, Inc. Aulden was a member of the Pamplin Ruritan Club and the Rocks Quartet.

In addition to his wife, Louise, he is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Bill Shorter of Christiansburg, Debbie and Jimmy Lakes, Patty and Randy Rimbey, and Jennifer and Russel Walton all of Pamplin; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Liz Roach of Brookneal; and his beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Edith and Glenn Morris, Ruth and Bill Caldwell, Frank Roy Ranson, and Mike and Betty Ranson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Abbey and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Joan Ranson.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Rocks Baptist Church by the Pastor Doug Lee, Jeremy Lakes, and Pastor Matt Homan.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

The family would like to thank Centra Hospice of Farmville for their care of Aulden.
